Who Will Cast Out The first Stone? *************************************** >>>If I caught an employee leaning on one of my machines,on one of my jobs, getting a little head on my time,I would either kick his ass, can his ass,or both of the above. What is different in Clinton's situation, in your opinion?<<< ********************************************************************** DD:
I'm not condoning Clinton's behavior, but it doesn't represent an impeachable offense... If there was an article in the Constitution that addressed immoral personal behavior by the Prez I would agree that there would be grounds for removing a Prez from office... Our Constitutional Fathers had plenty of Sex on the side while drafting the Constitution... Since then, many presidents, Congresspersons, Governors etc., have had extramarital affairs... John Kennedy makes Clinton look like a Boy Scout... Even that fellow who called the Prez a Scumbag had several affairs while still married... What we are witnessing is one of the biggest displays of hypocrisy that we'll ever see... I'd be willing to bet that more than half of Congress has had extramarital affairs... It wouldn't surprise me if some of these affairs included leather and whips, making Clinton's Cigar seem tame by comparison...
The bottom line is Clinton did a stupid thing but not an impeachable thing... As a nation of laws we should recognize this... We set criminals free if evidence is illegally obtained regardless of their guilt or innocence because we are a nation of laws... What a pity it would be to twist these laws to try and catch the Prez in a lie to hit him with perjury charges... There is not one person reading this post that would not be found to have lied about something if Ken Starr spent over four years and forty million dollars investigating the last 20 years of our lives...
You'd have to be blind to see that an investigation that started out with Whitwater and ends with only Monica Lewinsky really had as its aim to embarrass the President, hang on to the house, and win the presidency in 2000...
Let those Congresspersons who want to pursue this further open themselves up for investigation of their own possible extramarital relationships... I'll bet $1000 to $1 that the Congressional hearing would end in 24 hours...
