Brian, re "sign of a bottom": I subscribe to several finance mags
and also read online stuff. There are more and more dire predictions
and warnings and guides to investing in bonds. Forbes covers all
angles, as usual, because they publish several columnists.

Maybe this anecdotal evidence points to a near bottom?
On the other hand a multitude of posters expect Brazil, China
and many other countries to crash soon. Have you noticed how
they tend to reinforce each other, like a positive feedback loop?

You could do worse than to track the week-to-week change in
bullish indicators posted regularly by Paul V.
