David, yeah agreed at some point it makes sense to buy enterprise software again. The question is when. And did I mention that Im not quite sure whats causing the weakness? Is it y2k or saturation or some combination of the two? If it is y2k, then things really arent going to improve measurably until mid 1999 so why buy now?

In your list you left off the strongest enterprise software company imo, Siebel, next is Psft, I didnt think that until that conference call last week, then probably I2 but Im still trying to get a read on the scm fallout and I can determine even less about this than the general enterprise sector slowdown. Are the scm issues related to y2k or competing offerings from erps or shortage of personnel? We know it isnt saturation in SCM.

Yeah manu mgmt is a little inexperienced it seems. But, remember vantive has great management, Luongo from Oracle who went to hell and back during the Oracle go go days and Vantive still crashed and burned.
