Keep a close eye on AXTI.....a technology company (makes compound substrates used as a base material for chips). The process they use has merits (proffitable and efficient). Customers include Seimans, NEC, Nasa, TRW, Nortel, Sony, and a few others. Current PE at about 20 (not bad considering the stock is a recent IPO....imagine that....profit).;-) The substrates they manufacture are used mainly for high-efficiency LED lighting (used more and more in car lighting), laser emiters/detectors, and space-grade solar cells. Looks promising going forward.

IBD did a "New America" writeup on them about a month ago....stock was trading about 12 before writeup and the IBD press caused it to rise to mid-14s.

Current chart sucks wind. Low volume days (<75K) of late. Low float (you already know what that means). No recent news other than earnings and IPO information. Currently trading between 7 3/4 and 8 1/2. However volume has picked up a little with some large (relative for AXTI) share exchanges going through. Friday closed with a doji-star (could this be the start of a new uptrend??).

I went long on Thursday (Invested) as soon as some poor investor using NITE (E*Trade I believe) put up a large offer at 7 1/2 (the all time low to-date<VBG>)...only 1/16 above bid (spread is nasty lately....sometimes as high as 1 pt). AXTI deserves a study IMO.

Regards...
