typical general stuff of common networking articles; the big bucks are not in local call or penny-pinching voice calls; they're in long distrance whole-sale bulk T1s, T3s, OC3s corporate traffic; SS7 and AIN are neat things to mention though- btw, also most new local switching/local loop will be mostly done by remote access terminals and not with 5Es
