Stockman,

Wrong!

Clinton doesn't have to be convicted of purjury to be impeached and then tried by the Senate.

Legalese in this case will not work in the Senate. The argument will never stand up there. It's simply intended to appeal to the public in the hopes that their represenatives in the House won't vote to impeach him. The House is will decide if there is or isn't enough evidence to show that he committed "high crimes or misdemeanors." If enough of the House thinks so, then the trial will occur.

The purgery trial would take place after the man is again an ordinary citizen.

He can avoid all this by simply resigning. He ought to spare all Americans this torture and allow the government to move on. He isn't doing anybody any good any longer by staying in office - unless you like to see the executive branch ineffective and useless. Actually, not a bad idea sometimes - but considering the situation in the world at the moment - not a good one right now.
