RE: "If there's one thing the public should learn from this sordid mess we're in it's that CHARACTER DOES COUNT!"

It seems to me that we are teaching our children and grand children that CHARACTER DOES NOT COUNT. Over and over again over the past two days, I have heard the opinion voiced that it "is just his personal business," "is this all they could come up with?" and other remarks indicating that it is OK for the President of the United States to cheat on his wife on government property, to lie under oath, to use the power of the office to cover up his illegal actions, etc.

It is just pathetic in my opinion. The individual that holds the office of President of the United States is the most powerful man on the face of the earth. He literally holds the lives of hundreds of millions of people in his hands. He directs the United States armed forces and has final say over the lives of people on the other end of the cruise miscles. I believe that the earth needs the most powerful man in the world to be more than a liar and a cheat.

Perhaps Clinton has always been a liar and a cheat. Perhaps it's just another example of absolute power corrupting absolutely.

Regardless, keep an eye on how the people of the United States react to this sad episode in American history. It will give us a good view of American society in the 21st century.

Best wishes,

I2
