Well, it was certainly about the first article. Don't think PPTP is involved, though.

We'll probably never know the terms of the agreement. It looks like the code licened from Livingston was the core building block for all of USR server operating systems, albeit modified code. As we know, USR has experienced strong demand for these products. What we don't know was the fee arrangement of the original licensing agreement, nor the terms of the renewal. I'll bet it was expensive, though.

We;ll have to look closely at the next 10Q to see if it reveals anything. In any event, I wouldn't bet that USR made out very well on the settlement, but it's probably not material in the big picture.

That's a good example of the risks of not owning your technology.
