I am not really a democrat. I am not associated with parties at the moment. But I admire the president, still do, and support him, also understand the seriousness of the mistake he has made this time, and regret his recklessness in handling a highly dangerous relationship with a troubled woman. In my personal view, it may be best for him to resign for the country and also his party. I say this just because I don't see any way he can revive from such a fallout from the moral authority front. But I may be wrong. In my heart, I also keep this slim hope that things may be turning around some day that he will be able to survive. In a word, he is still a good president and he may be able to continue to serve the country well.

The NBC show tonight, "President and the People," seem to have outlined the strategy for Mr. Clinton at the moment. This might be the strategy for the Democratic party as well.

They will hope for no major deterioration of public support for the next few days; then negoatiate with congress about some kind of severe punishment for his mistake; he continues to repent and play a low profile; survive until after election that people might get tired of this issue and will eventually forget and forgive him, especially through thanksgiving and Christmas.

The key issue here in my view, is what kind of punishment would satisfy the public outcry for such an immoral thing he has done. People are saying impeachment is too much for this; but it shall not go without punishment. I think it's up to you Democrats to come up with some kind of creative idea to punish him through the Congress that this issue can then be satisfactorily addressed and he might actually survive.

Just my opinion.
