>>But that's beside the point. He had a choice. Many choices

I agree with that. And it seems as if he has made many wrong choices......and always gotten away with it. He's one of those people who has managed to get through mistakes unscathed....unfortunately this time he got caught.

Here's a question....Paula Jones filed a civil lawsuit against him alleging sexual harrassment. He lies under oath. I think someone on this thread previously said it wasn't so bad because it was a civil lawsuit not a criminal lawsuit. This isn't coming from a feminist perspective by any means but what does that say about future sexual harrassment lawsuits? It's ok to lie under oath....they're only civil suits anyway. So why would a woman bother to ever file one.

I guess what I'm struggling with is that now that this is out in the open, how can there be any alternatives other than resignation/impeachment? It's not about sex, extramarital affairs, sex on the job, in the Oval Office of wherever.

It's about committing perjury. I've thought about this analogy....you have an outstanding employee who is doing a superlative job. But this employee does something so bad, other employees know what happened and the only acceptable alternative is to fire this person. As much as you might hate to do it....do you really have an alternative?? No matter how this happened and whether Ken Starr (he should be exiled) overstepped his bounds or not, it has gotten to a point where I can't see a lot of alternatives here. Sad but true.
