3dfx is the only 3d platform that can run 100's of games under NT 4.0 (most glide titles will run great). That's a reason I won't even consider a TNT. None of my machines run, or will ever run Windows 9x.
TNT is slower across the board than V2 and Banshee, and is NOT overclockable. All my V2 boards run at 100-105 Mhz, overclocked, and 100% reliable. 2 of my systems also have SLI setups. No contest.
Current incarnations of TNT are rumored to have serious bugs (or don't work at all) on AGP over 66 Mhz. That rules out running on any of my (slightly overclocked) systems.
No Glide Support.
No FF7 support.
Porbably lots of other software that won't run out of the box.
Ultima Ascention will be designed for V2.
Most other software is optimized for V2 too.
NVIDIA is a bunch of lying bastards, and if they were'nt private, the CEO would be in court defending himself for misrepresentation, false advertising, etc.
3dfx is a great company, and should be supported. NVIDIA is not, and should be buried. |
