I can tell you the probability of a mobile wireless solution in the MMDS and LMDS bands is severely constrained by both engineering and regulatory barriers. The other technologies I am not familiar with.

Interface: The visual interface is the best for machine-to-person, but the audio interface is the best for person-to-machine. How many people can type?

Micropayments:
Jacob Nielsen, one of the best and most intelligent commentators on Web development and issues, has this to say about micropayments:
useit.com
Ultimately, those who pay for something control it. Currently, most websites that don't sell things are funded by advertising. Thus, they will be controlled by advertisers and will become less and less useful to the users.

Security:
This is a big question mark. OT so I won't get into it here.

Better MPUs:
Advancing technology is DEFINED AS a benefit to society.

Education:
Where will this hypothetical revolution come from? Certainly not government-run school systems. The classroom of 1998 is not materially changed from the classroom of 1888, a bunch of kids at desks with textbooks and a blackboard at the front ... a hundred years of no progress. Depressing. One obvious candidate for educational revolution is the Net.

Portico:
I think I'll sign up on Monday!

God bless,
PX
