PT, you simply cannot cope with the fact that some people don't see things your way, can you?
You cannot fathom that somebody who would go about things differently - chosing a different means of verifying this meeting, forinstance, isn't up to some kind of no good.
Just like you can't fathom that somebody would take an objective look at this stock and come up with a different conclusion.
Try just once to see the other person's viewpoint. If the shoe was on the other foot, and the other guy was asking us to verify that Hayton was in Palm Springs by calling some third party there, (OK, he has a home there - how about a 7/11 clerk? :) ) what would you have to say about that? I'll bet you'd be telling us we should verify with the company or Hayton himself.
Well, that's just what Aleta has done. Don't you agree that that's the best verification possible? Forget calling the company - she has a call into Hayton. Do you have any problem with that? Won't that absolutely prove your meeting? Isn't it worth waiting till Monday for?
BTW, what of any significance was said during your coffee talk? I haven't seen it yet. We know you were quite taken with Hayton. But, if as suggested by Wired and others, he is a practiced scam artist, isn't charm a part of his job? Heck, if he had the effect on you to give that glowing description, imagine how he must make the little old ladies swoon - all the way to the bank! |
