Bill, Thanks very much for your feedback. I've only been at this for 3-4 weeks, and then only in the mornings before going to work. I avoid the 1st 1/2 hour or better. I've selected high volume issues during some incredibly volatile times. I suspect these conditions, coupled with a non-integrated trading platform (internet order separately filled out), have distorted my experience and ability to understand "normal" trading days. Even still, I'm pleased with my "instincts" and ability to apply all the TA reading to the intra-day patterns, even though my "mistakes" have me in a net loss position for the period. (My previously mentioned 9-minute market order destroyed the prior 3 weeks.) After 2 or 3 attempts to place an order at the inside market or better and not having it get executed, I have concluded that it is essential to have an execution system that does not interfere with a trade. It is hard enough to develop an objective trading strategy; Not being able to execute instantly makes it impossible to evaluate a strategy's effectiveness and to fine tune it.
