Steve,
I hope your post wasn't aimed at me. If it was you are "preaching to the choir" as I am 100% in agreement with you. Actually I have been preaching "patience, patience, patience" for months now... even when some posters complained the CCI website was nothing but "vaporware". TSIG has many things going for it... one of the most important, IMHO, being Rob Gordon. The CompactConnections division is, IMO, going to be only a tiny part of a company that will become a major force in the internet/telecommunications industry in the years ahead. But, yes, it will take time, but perhaps not as long as many may be believe... at least that's my opinion based upon my DD.
Partially "Off Topic": 1) Did you see that JimB is no longer affiliated with "his" newsletter for "personal" reasons. Wonder what happened? 2) Understand your analogy re: construction. I am just completing having my 1934 home on the S.F. peninsula restored. It was supposed to be done in one (1) year... but I gave it two. It was a large enough project that we had to rent a house in the area. We moved back in after three (3) years and now, two (2) years after moving back in, it's finally being finished. Whose fault? No particular person. The contractor was OK, the subs showed up sporadically, parts and supplies were late in arriving, things didn't work the way they should have, etc. ad nauseum. But that is the reality of life and business. Timing does not always... in fact rarely... goes according to plans. The important thing is that it finally goes... and goes right. IMO, nothing else matters. The architects (house and landscape) are arranging to have my house put in national magazines (because they claim it will increase its value... and obviously increase their personal exposure <VBG>). I'm looking forward to seeing Rob Gordon's picture on the cover of Fortune and an article in national magazines about TSIG... the new super internet/telephony conglomerate. Is this "hype"? I guess you might call it that... if you (some people) haven't done your (their) own DD, but it doesn't take much intellect to determine that I'm long TSIG for the duration and so obviously I've made my decision. As you said, Steve, it just takes time and patience. I just choose not to trade the stock and wake up one day to find out that another positive PR was out and the stock keeps moving north. IMO, this is what is going to happen with TSIG. Those whose concept of long-term is weeks to a few months will just have to move on. On the other hand, those people who remember the early days of some of today's giants, when employees took stock in lieu of salaries because there was no cash, will have a different time frame and, IMHO, be justly rewarded.
Best always,
Marty |
