Diver Ten years ago I spent my 3 week honeymoon in the Maldive islands, a Coral atoll in the Indian Ocean. Just off the equator. We did a lot of scuba in that 3 weeks, observing some unbelievably beautiful sights. Swimming with every type of tropical fish and inhabitant of the Indian Ocean imaginable. From territorial little guys that would nip you if you got too close to their home, to majestic Manta rays feeding off the plankton in the currents off the outside of the Atoll. On occasions dolphins would cavort around the boat as we travelled to the sites, playfully bounding out of the water fore and aft. A time of mixed emotions was witnessing a shark feed, where the instructor fed Tuna to Reef sharks, inducing a feeding frenzy, exhilarating to say the least. The evenings were accompanied by tremendous sunsets and views of the galaxies. A most relaxing time. After writing this I have a definite urge to go back.
