Very Nice Proposal- nearly models mine<g>

The only things I would change is the power supply as mentioned
and the hard drive. The 250W InWin FT case is all you need, imo.

Both IBM an Maxtor make a Hard drive in the 7 gig area
that has a 7200 rpm and a 9 m/s seek rate. Nearly competes
with SCSI without the price, noise, and heat. I called Maxtor
and they said they will be shipping them in the next week.

storagereview.com Aug 98 review article
placed the Maxtor Diamondmax 2500 (7200 rpm)
above the equivalant IBM. Both are excellent, however.

PCI/AGP: The Abit has 5 pci slots. I would do an AGP/PCI
combo of the two cards, just to preserve the PCI slots for
potential upgrades. You may choose to even add a third or
fourth monitor, later on.

RAM: Tom's hardware likes Samsung based Ram. If you are going
to get ECC, you might as well spend just a few $$ more for the
PC 100 as well. Just in case you want to overclock the bus speed
to 112 - which is a very popular setting, you'll have the quality
ram to do it. If you get overly eager, you could go with the 125 bus
ram and try OC the bus at that setting. The 124 Bus setting on the
Abit was a nice move, in that the 112 setting was getting boring and the 132 setting wasn't stable enough with current ram. In comes the 124 bus setting only on the ABIT and PC 124 compliant Ram.

Sometimes subtle choices can be a pain in the you know what.

Regards,
S.W.
