I'm not a citizen nor a resident of the US, but I'd like to share my opinion with anyone who cares to read it.

I don't think that lying in a deposition, in a civil matter that was subsequently dismissed, rises to the standard required under the Constitution to impeach a president.

Having said that, how can the man continue in office? He has embarrassed his country, destroyed his credibility, and debased his office.

I wish there was a informal tradition of resigning under circumstances like these -- as there is in the British parliamentary model.

I'm afraid instead, what we're going to see, is either overkill (and a bad precedent) or a presidential carcass that prompts giggles with every policy announcement or speech!
