Agreed that if you want a 'how-to' book on short selling, Kathryn Staley's 'The Art of Short Selling' doesn't do the job.

It's mostly a collection of war stories about specific stocks, complete with charts. One can learn something from it about how to pick stocks to short.

But you won't learn a thing about how your broker handles your short account, or how you should manage your buying power to avoid a margin call, etc.

One useful thing thing from the book: look for stocks with multiple directors with the same last name. That's a risk factor worth recognizing when you see it.
