The MPV border is around 50 klicks to Snap Lake., then add around
another 20Klicks to Kennedy lake., approx., in answer to your question., Peter., it has been my contention since 97., that they never
drilled Snap Lake deep enough., the 96 drill hole program averaged
less than 100meters., more like about 75meters., they did drill a few
deep holes in the lake., but suspect it was no deeper than 250meters., there is no hardfast rule to say the source isnt seated deeper in the confines of Snap Lake., most deep drilling will be expensive., Aber used drill stations at the depths of the decline bulk
sampling ramps to drill their pipes deeper., so there is a cost factor.
I think they should triangulate the NW Penninsula dyke to 186., and
back to the S.E. corner where they intersected the 4 drill holes in late
96., estimate the dip and punch some deep holes in line with these
triangulations., maybe that will happen this winter., I dont know., what I do know it makes very practical sense to fully delineate the
dyke system., and a little more information concerning the location
of the 22 drill holes which all intersected kimberlite may unlock some
of those questions.
Sincerely
George J. Tromp
