This is a good move for Quarterdeck. I also think she would make a great CEO if she gets the chance.

Quarterdeck Announces New Board Member

MARINA DEL REY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 14, 1998-- Quarterdeck Corp. QDEK Monday announced that Joyce M. Wrenn, vice president of Information Technologies and CIO of Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) has joined its board of directors.

At UPRR, she is responsible for establishing technical direction, strategy and providing overall telecommunications and information systems support including reducing UPRR's cost of PC ownership, network development, software development, Internet and intranet systems, client/servers, legacy systems and Year 2000 compliance.

Her extensive corporate experience in using and managing computer software and networks in large enterprises makes her uniquely qualified to assist Quarterdeck's new strategic penetration into the large corporate marketplace.

Her previous affiliations include:

-- V.P., Information Systems Technology at American Airlines where she was responsible for identifying, piloting and introducing emerging technologies, including a landmark desktop network, common tools and common access to legacy systems;

-- Sr. V.P., Data and Application Management at Bank of America where she established data management and decision support systems used for all internal decision making;

-- Director of PC Software Publishing at IBM Corp., responsible for developing its software strategies and direct line management of 150 software products including marketing, advertising, packaging, manufacturing and distribution for IBM's PC during its first three start-up years; and

-- Director of Information Systems at IBM's General Products Division covering coordination and direction of Information Systems.
