Particularly because they're CLUELESS as to what Adobe really does and where it is headed. Just to remind them - it's document management (or "asset management" as I guess we're calling it now) - not document creation that is the future opportunity. To accomplish that requires a core technology to facilitate that endeavor. Only one exists - PDF. Applications for creating content are rapidly becoming a commodity - Microsoft will ensure that. Unfortunately, the "small players" mentioned don't have a prayer to compete against well established companies like Adobe and Microsoft - they'll be eaten alive. There is no way they can afford to both develop a better product and then successfully market it. Sorry, but that's reality.
