Congress or the president can't do squat about the education problem in America. It takes good teachers and administrators who don't get caught up in the dumbing down pressure exhibited by liberals, many parents who think there children can do no wrong, and students who are for the most part whiners. When discipline is used and excellence demanded without compromise, students will be successful. Liberals have destroyed the ability to demand higher standards because they are too concerned how Johnny feels about 1+1=2 rather than knowing that 1+1=2. Since the great society spending, there has been an inverse relationship between the obscene amounts spent on education and the SAT scores of our children. Throwing more money from Congress at the problem will do nothing to solve the problems.
