FIRSTPLUS Identifies Market Manipulation by Trader DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 14, 1998--FIRSTPLUS Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE:FP - news) announced today that through a continuing investigation it has identified an individual connected with an investment fund that, together with its affiliates, is a trader of the Company's stock. The Company believes that, through this individual, these entities have systematically utilized and disseminated false and misleading information about the Company over the Internet. The Company is reviewing its legal remedies, which it intends to pursue vigorously, and is forwarding this information to the SEC's Office of Internet Enforcement for investigation.
