I have wondered why the US has been able to prosper for so long with the Japanese economy in decline and Japanese banks under such severe pressure. Here is the best explanation I've seen to date: stratfor.com This makes more sense to me than anything I've seen and gives me hope that the Asian flu will not reach epedemic proportions in the US.
