There will just be more and more empty slots. Intel wants and will put the majority of video and audio in the CPU. Dell is putting ATI AGP, Crystal audio, & 3COM ethernet on the motherboards of their basic business machines for the last 6 months. And if there wasn't the kflex vs. X2 squabble they would have the modems there too already. So other than gamers and upgraders who is going to provide this great volume of add-on cards you are eluding to?
