If you like to dive, you can't beat S. Florida's East Coast. We have the widest continental shelf in the world and the Gulf Stream comes to within a mile of shore bringing with it clear warm water along with a variety of large tropical and huge game fish, not to mention Turtles and Rays. Not many people come down here during the "off season" except divers, the ocean is flat and the visibility is over 100 feet!

The area just south of Jupiter has the nicest reefs. This area is a real sleeper in the dive community. There are several great wrecks in the area with the Princess Anne being the largest within recreational limits. In my opinion, the best dive shop in the area is the "Force E" on Blue Heron Blvd. The smartest thing to do is to take your PADI Advanced Open Water certification while you're in the area. You get a guided tour! Just read the book and go diving! Hotel accommodations on Singer Island are the best value around as well, with many large hotel franchises located there.

The CUDA dive club is a located in the area; they do some interesting recreational dives. You can read up on their activities at this site.

Another area to dive is Boynton Beach the shop to get in touch with is Dive Shop II. The area is packed with nice reefs and some nice wrecks like the Budweiser Barge. This area is about ten miles south of Singer Island. Contact Captain Charlie Brown on TNT Charters.

About 20 miles further south is the Lighthouse Point dive shop. This area has the most wrecks within a few miles of the inlet. There are Shark and Ray feeding tours around as well. The best Captain is Conrad on the 6-pack "Misconduct".

The Apres Plonge dive club is affiliated with the Lighthouse Point dive shop.

If you want to try wreck diving in the Keys, you need to dive the Duane in Key Largo and the Thunderbolt in Marathon. The best reef is in Marathon as well. There is no shortage of dive shops in the area!

Have fun!
