Clark, I suppose you are right, there was a faint air of desperation about my Lucent purchase of Qualcomm comment. With Globalstar AZ [after Zenit] or PS [post-script] share price in the gutter and Qualcomm was bouncing off $42, I was feeling very tender. Any recognition of Qualcomm's value is better than none when I'm feeling like that. With even my subconscious calling Uncle, that really should be indicating a bottom.

Not slighted - that implies some residual ego. I'm begging!

C'mon Alan G, do the deed.

Chaz, re: "I am highly skeptical that reductions in interest rates stimulate the economy, ..." you have got it totally wrong. The reason to cut interest rates is not to stimulate the economy, it is to transfer wealth from savers to me. That way the stockmarket doesn't collapse. Savers don't mind - they go on saving money day in day out because that is their nature. Look at Japan - stuffing money in the mattress at 0.7314159% interest rates - they still save the damn stuff, despite the governments best efforts to get them to use it to buy something. But I'll go shopping if I get cheap interest rates because Globalstar will refinance at nice and cheap prices, my loans will not cost me a bean and Globalstar profits will be high. Which I like. Money is a false idol and doesn't represent any real value, just the time it takes for it to move from one place to another. A single dollar moving quickly could serve as the world's currency - VERY quickly.
