No extra cost for Level III... just have to convince them you have enough experience to trade spreads, short stock, etc... Just have to ask for an upgrade to Level III trading. Since I haven't actually made any spread trades by phone, I'm guessing...but I think the commissions are the same as online... plus a 15.00 additional charge... My guess would be that each side of the option spread would be 29.00 (that's the e*trade minimum) and then add 15.00 to the total.

There was one online broker I found that specializes in options and allows spread entries over the net...but they were quite expensive around 45.00 for each side of the option order...
