This thread has been graced by the presence of a new member...Gerry Miles...for a little longer than a week. During this period, he has made some very interesting assertions to say the least. Everyone has the right to post what they believe. However, there comes a point when certain bits of information can have the effect of playing on people's emotions. We all realize that we are quickly approaching a critical period in the history of our company. Everyone has been keyed up for the past few weeks. Therefore, it does not take much to tilt people's emotions one way or the other. A perfect environment in which to create confusion and emotional let downs. I sincerely believe that we have been witness to this over the past week. What follows are private messages sent to me by Gerry.

"Dr. Singh, I'm responding back to you privately to put some perspective on impending news. The uncertainty of the Cendant situation has put Wave systems temporarily on hold. This information became available to me two hours ago. My credibility on the open forums will be ambiguous in nature to say the least, so I will transpose on private message only. One piece of information I can divulge was a strain between IBM and Wave and the fact that they are NOT part of the initial oem team. I will write back when I have 100% guaranteed information only. It looks like another 6-8 week period of anxiety for all."
On Wednesday, Sep 9 1998 10:20 PM I sent the following message to Gerry:
Good evening Gerry,
Good to hear from you. If you don't mind me asking, I have a few questions I would like to ask:
1) Was the recent private message a clarification to post #3806 regarding OEMs being quiet for the time being?
2) Do you still feel that a content announcement will be made on Friday?
3) You mentioned Cendant. I know that they have put up their software unit up for sale. However, I'm not sure why a distribution agreement would be in jeopardy?
4) Were you expecting to see OEM agreements anyday? I would have thought that we would see announcements towards Nov/ Dec.
5) How close is your source? Is he/she been dependable in the past?
6) What is the disagreement that exists between WAVX and IBM?
7) Do you post on the ragingbull thread...and if so by what call name?

"Dr. Singh, the information became available to me 4pm pst, so I wanted to relay it to the people who wrote me. First of all, no OEM announcement will be made until q-1 99. The uncertain future of Cendants involvement with Wave Systems, and the recent strain between IBM and Wave have put operations pertaining to the announcements of additional providers on hold. I will say this, Wave Systems has been very aggressive with all other OEM possibilities, the channels are still wide open. The OEM agreements that exist are of smaller nature. When I receive 100 cerification on anything I will let you know, unfortunately we will have to be more patient."

"Dr. Singh, the easiest and best explanation I can give is that Wave will only release news if it is major. Cendant is a major provider. Remember, Wave is looking for credibility which only major providers can provide. Credibility is key, Cendants uncertain future with Wave looms large. When I first posted what I had learned, I did so for the sake of shareholders who have been with Wave for a long time such as I, looking back it was a mistake."
The above messages were from the exchange that Gerry and I had from the 9-10. He has failed to answer any of the questions I have submitted to him in regards to his contentions.
In my next post, we will take a look at some of his recent posts on the SI thread.
