Since Jack disagrees with the article's statement about MMs not being able to manipulate the price of the larger issues (Intel, etc), I would appreciate comments from other knowledgeable investors. It seems unlikely, to me, that MMs could buy or sell enough stock of a big issue to materially influence its price, but I'm a novice. Jack suggests that they manipulate the average buy/sell price and not the spread. I would like to know how they can do that.
