Yeah,I saw Gene that way.It was at the time we were the unwashed mob with no creditability.Here we were waiting for some help in legitimizing our position from Kennedy.He puts his finger to the political winds and decides not to take the chance, very disappointing.Then Clean Gene comes along bucking what we considered as overwhelming odds and actually starts to get enough votes that it appeared as though it was more than just a symbolic gesture.Well heroes are made not born .Being young and idealistic I thought for a while he could win. Good finally triumphs over evil, that type of thing.I guess I will always see it in that light.Idealism fades with age but the intenseness of the memories remain .Perhaps..because it was a better time in my life that the memories remain so vivid.Oh well now I am reduced to defending BC sex life. Egad!!What has become of me ? pez
