Robert --

I phoned the company and was told they began buying back shares in June and are continuing to buy in the current environment.

I also asked about their cash position and was told they have $170M and are cash-flow neutral, meaning they don't spend any more than they earn.

The current problems are not specific to Cymer but reflect the slowdown and over-capacity in the industry. When DRAM turns around, Cymer will be on the leading edge of the turn. I doubt anyone knows when that'll be. If it's not till the end of '99, it would mean Cymer would turn by mid year.

Preaching to the choir, I know. :)

Later --

Pat
