Marcos, Gold also has it's wear and trash based dissipation mechanisms. Most gold pen nibs are gone forever, gold worn from rings, gone forever.
With the gold in circulation in these ornamental forms being larger than what is in the central banks(is that right?, where would that figure be? 5-6 billion ounces of dower silver in India, gold?)

As we find more tar sands and tar shales it is apparent that there will not be a real oil shortage for centuries. The Canadian tar sands have more oil that all the arabs. In addition if you mine Arab oil fields you find huge tar fields there as well(very deep though)

So this gold phase is artificial and as soon as Asia resurges gold will bounce as all the Asians rush to buy as they have seen what happens when you do not have it. In effect this Asian crash will stimulate Asian gold buying when they recover and have spendables again.
