MOTOROLA ARTICLE

24 short paragraphs:

A quick read triggered flags for me at the following locations:

prgph. 5 "Motorola has created the industry's first practical "soft" set-top box" couple this with prgph. 7 "positioned as the successor to today's set-top-box..." I hope we're in the box, if this is competition for Hauppauge.

prgph. 10 " a fully assembled and software-loaded motherboard the to systems OEMs..."

prgph. 11 Both hardware and software developers.....low cost.....meet the demands of the emerging interactive multimedia market. An integrated development environment (hardware and software) is now available that significantly reduces design and development time while providing fir very low cost of market entry"

prgph. 16 "With an insertable security module" (already mentioned)

prgph. 19 "....source code for I/O drivers"

prgph. 20 "Motorola will be making joint announcements with the technology, DISTRIBUTION, manufacturing, SYSTEMS and integration partners who have participated in creating the end-to-end solution supporting the Blackbird client"

prgph. 21 "..shipments...4th Quarter, commercial deployment 1st Quarter of 1999.

I need some opinions, there are strong similarities to Wave, can anyone offer more insight as to this being in part Wave or a competitor? The time frame for their announcements of partners and shipping parallel Wave Systems.
