couple of technical and market share questions:

i'm trying to get a feel for whether this parallels the cmp situation where ipec and sfam were first to market but now amat has them in their sites and, given it's size, could crush them into oblivion. i don't usually find myself asking questions on si, but my knowledge in this area of the semi equip area is rather limited.

i've been tracking cymi for a while and with todays action the stock looks washed out to me. looking to take a position, but would like some info:

10k states: 'The Company currently has two significant competitors in the market for excimer laser systems for photolithography
applications, Lambda-Physik R&D ("Lambda-Physik"), a German-based
subsidiary of Coherent, Inc. and Komatsu located in Japan...'. it further states that these 2 companies are dedicating resources to enable them to manufacture the lasers in quantity. it further states 'The Company also believes that its customers are actively seeking a second source for excimer lasers.'

MY QUESTIONS:

1.is cymi's early success primarily due to being first to market with quantity, a position that is changing with competition 'aggressively' ramping up? 10k alludes to this especially given comments about customers looking for second source.

2. importantly, what is the size of this market now? any published projections for next few years or projected growth rates?

3. what's cymi's market share now?

4. what is the threat from competing technologies such as EUV, X-ray, electron beam and ion projection processes over the next couple of years?

5. who else is working to enter this market?

6. is the quality and reliability issue still a problem with their lasers?

thanks again....nick
