LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 14, 1998--Siemens Nixdorf Information Systems, Inc. today announced it is the official technology sponsor of SAPPHIRE(R) '98, the SAP North American user conference. The sponsorship is a continuing example of the synergy between Siemens and SAP in their over two decades of collaboration. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of SAPPHIRE, the SAP signature user conference, Siemens has supplied both hardware and platform support to maintain this most prestigious of IT events. As the official technology sponsor, Siemens has provided 1,000 Siemens PCs to be used in booth demonstrations and office automation, as well as for e-mail and Internet access. Supporting these workstations are 38 Intel-based Primergy servers consisting of 34 general file servers and four SAP(TM) R/3(TM) servers configured for R/3 demonstrations. Twenty-five Siemens laptops are also available to show the latest technology developments.
