If you have not posted to the thread you can not post to yourself. After your first post to a thread you can post to yourself by going to your own post and then clicking on the reply button.

If you are posting to a thread for a first time and you are not responding to a specific post, post your message to the zero post. Either put zero in the little box in the upper right and push enter ( if your browser supports this type of navigation) or go to the first post and hit previous to get to the zero post. Then click the reply button.

Some posters post to the last post in a thread for a first post. I prefer the zero post method as the last post method messes up the view replies option.

The welcome thread #Subject-16294 is a good place to ask generic SI questions....I am not complaining.
