The deal also marks a strategic shift for MSFDC, which banks have typically regarded with skepticism because it threatens their core business and caters to the needs of billers. But that perception is bound to change now that one of the country's largest banks has joined TransPoint.

...I hate to tell the writer that MSFDC never catered to the need of billers, AT&T didn't even consider MSFDC an option because of the model. The writer is correct in the fact that the perception is bound to change, but for better or worse is the question.

E-commerce analyst Scott Smith of Current Analysis said Citibank's nationwide reach and reputation as a technologically astute bank will
improve other banks' comfort with TransPoint.

...micny is this that second rate CC analyst? I have one follow up question for Scott Smith...why didn't any banks use the Citi "pay anyone" (that citi was marketing) over the last few years? I'm LOL, because the Joint Venture needs Citi because they are technologically astute, when the Joint Venture already includes Microsoft. Such a backass words Joint Venture..Citi brings the Technology..MS was bringing their name..FDC was bringing service but they outsourced it.
