AP is now reporting that the Nuer of Riak Machar (government-backed) and those of Paulino Matep (independent) have been battling for control of Unity province. It would appear that earlier reports of Westerners showing up in Khartoum after attacks by Paulino's forces on oil field installations at Heglig just might be true.
