(NASDAQ:LWAY - news) announced today that it has started marketing and shipping America's first instant Kefir called Lifeway Kefir Starter which has a two-year shelf life and provides consumers with the many nutritional values of traditional Kefir with the unique advantage of having the ability to make their own Kefir at home.
Sold in envelope packets, Lifeway Kefir Starter is added to milk and, after fermentation, it becomes a highly nutritional and delicious drink offering all of the health benefits of traditional Lifeway Kefir that has become popular in a number of world markets. The new product can be sent to any point in the world because it is inexpensive to ship and has an extended shelf life.
