Tim, your point about mergers, in general, is correct. Geez, just look at the TLAB/CIEN fiasco. But a comparison to COMS/USRX is not apples to apples when compared to LU/ASND. LU is much bigger than COMS and could more easily digest ASND, unlike COMS trying to digest a like-sized USRX. Also, ASND is in much better shape then USRX was. USRX's stuffing of inventory channels produced much of the pain of that merger. I don't think ASND has any like problems (or maybe any problem:)). That said, I also feel that LU/ASND is not the "no brainer" that most people here feel it is. I still have a lot of problems with the fact that other recent LU acquistions were with companies that essentially sell competitive products to ASND. gary
