You almost sound like a bear here.
Some of what I think you are saying is along the same lines of thinking that I have right now.

Have you seen the Latest issue of Business Week?
The rocket scientist low volatility approach explodes on the launch pad.
In a nutshell, These guys started in 1994 and up until July 1998 have had great returns and ver low volatility. Note here, since 1994 the market in general has provided above trend returns with below trend volatility.
In August they were down 42%.
Why, lack of liquidity.
I think this is the type of thing that many investors are going to be faced with as the market volatility goes above the long-term historical trend level.

It will happen to DELL, I think we all know it at this point.
But none of us know when, and think there will be liquidity for us to exit as it hits.

The rocket scientist, Phd's and all made the same mistake.
It cost them 42% in one month.
