My investment model always had 3dfx being an OEm powerhouse. 3D is rapidly moving from being an add-on/upgrade product to an expectation. So far, my error has been in the retail demand for the old model add-on products slowing down much faster than I thought.

Note - sales of V2 boards still seem to be ok, the problem with this quarter's earnings seems to be more of a boom/bust ordering pattern which I also knew was a risk (and which I posted about months ago).

Now you do not own any 3dfx and want some confirmation that your assumptions about the stock are correct before you buy any. I have no problem with that. I already own stock. I do not need the money in the short term and I think (with the big swings up and down in the market for the next little while) that I'd be just as likely to make a bad choice as a good one if I were to pick another stock. I also think that a great deal of the risk has been priced into the stock already and that OEM announcements or other positive news in the near term future may give me good return on the stock price from this point onwards. So why should I sell now?

Michael
