JGoren:

Lucent DID NOT talk down estimates at a recent investment conference, so the current noise regarding an impending negative announcement would seem baseless. Lucent is vulnerable to rumors because it trades at 45x forward earnings and 4x revenue etc etc. Also, investors are getting concerned that the company may be planning a large, and potentially dilutive, stock acquisition once its prohibition on the same lapses in October.

The comments on Telex Chile are not new; Chilesat's parent has been struggling to restructure its debt for well over a year. Chilesat, and its related wireless parent, are the "jewel" in Telex's portfolio, so I wouldn't be overly concerned. Moreover, Leap Wireless, not Qualcomm, will be Chilesat's proud owner in just nine days.

If QC goes down tomorrow, it should not be because of LU or Telex Chile.

Best regards,

Gregg
