Tenchusatsu:

<<Coppermine, however, is going to be Slot 1, the follow-up to Katmai. It's going to feature a 256K on-die cache, OLGA packaging, KNI, and a starting frequency of 600 MHz. It will probably be featured on the new Camino chipset including support for Rambus RDRAM. This will be the chip for hardcore gamers.>>

Hardcore gamers who can afford such a system are few. History has been repeated many time. One lesson to be learned is that

1) If it is cheap many people will buy
2) Good technology, not necessarily the best, with many users and supports make a standard

Apple failed
Beta VCR failed
Microchannel failed
MMX failed
....
....
....
KNI satisfies 1) and 2)
