Gaugie, the Profumo sex scandal brought down a British government back in the early '60s.

This isn't exactly Bill's "private life". He was being deposed about his sexual behavior with subordinates in the Paula Jone's case, and he lied to the court. It's not sex that has him in a bind, it's perjury.

There is something wonderfully ironic about a sexual harrassment scandal destroying a Democrat politician via the office of the Independent Prosecutor. Republicans opposed the Office of the IP, and have been routinely condemned for not promoting sexual harrassment legislation. This was all great fun when Richard Nixon was driven out for Watergate, when Ronnie Reagan was being pursued for Iran/Contra, or when Bob Packwood and Clarence Thomas were being hounded for sexual harrassment. Now the howls of protest seem pretty empty. Hillary helped write the roadmap for impeachment that was used against Nixon in 1974; now Bob Barr is using it against her husband. Clinton knew how the game was played when he ran for President. He was a fool to give his enemies a lever to use against him, but he has only himself to blame. They won't let up.
