There was an employee meeting in which Charles Wang was the speaker at the Plaza Hotel in SF. This information comes from two reliable sources that attended the meeting.

1) Reiterated overall market turmoil as impacting stock recovery efforts.
2) Stated that Asian problems did not directly impact CA, but were surprised to see how it affected key customers.
3) Plan to put MORE focus on stock buyback. CA has been buying back stock for months... this will intensify at the end of the quarter.
4) Charles said he could not legally comment on the projected quarter earnings, but hinted by using the words, 'blowout success'
5) Stated that the management payout over 7 years will have little impact on the earnings long term... and that he was obligated to sell enought to pay taxes.
6) Made references to Clinton... when asked about litigation and lying. CA will defend against any legal action, but will and has not lied like the president.
7) Overall improvements are being made to the product infrastructure by continued leverage of existing and developing technologies.
