To all - regarding CIEN (and TLAB and KO and G and, of course, QCOM) -- whenever I am doing my initial 2 minute-long peek at a company's "numbers," I always look at revenues very closely, since earnings absolutely can be faked (excuse me, "massaged") with things like one half of a derivatives transaction being closed out early.

With the first four companies above, my reaction upon seeing the numbers was "are you kidding?" Well, the first two have now "crashed and burned."

I still suspect that the third and fourth will also.

Regarding QCOM, since it is still trading at roughly one times sales, I don't think anyone need "lose any sleep" worrying about an "excessive valuation level."

Remember (as someone once said to me), even if QCOM remains valued at one times sales, the share price should go up at least 70% a year or so.

Jon.
