Laser Exploration, Inc. Announces Successful Field Testing of
Licensed Laser Technology to Directly Detect Oil & Gas Fields

MIDLAND, Texas, Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Laser Exploration, Inc. (LEI) is
pleased to announce the successful field testing of its' licensed laser
technology -- a newly developed and patented differential absorption lidar
(DIAL) mid-infrared laser capable of detecting and quantifying methane (C1),
ethane (C2), and probably propane (C3) gases in the atmosphere of one (1) part
per million volume (ppmv) over a one (1) mile distance. This "breakthrough"
in mid-infrared "open path spectrometry" was achieved by OPHIR Corporation,
Littleton, CO and Chimera Geophysical Corporation, Reno, NV and was primarily
funded by the U.S. DOE-SBIR, the U.S.A.F.-Phillips Labs, and stockholders of
LEI.
LEI is engaged in the exploration for oil and gas reserves and will deploy
the LIDAR oil and gas exploration system(C) to detect and quantify anomalous
levels of C1-C3 gases in the near surface atmosphere which LEI believes are
leaking directly upward from subsurface pressurized oil and gas fields. LEI
predicts a success ratio of 1:2 for a new field discovery and a reserve
finding cost of less than $1/BOE.
LEI expects the LIDAR oil and gas exploration system(C) to find numerous
stratigraphically trapped "giant" oil and gas fields still remaining
undiscovered in the U.S. which could dramatically reduce our dependence on
imported crude.
LEI is currently buying lease options on a geologically prospective "area
of interest" in Texas and will utilize the LIDAR oil and gas exploration
system(C). LEI expects the drilling of two (2) "wildcat" test wells before
the year-end.
For more information about LEI and its' LIDAR oil and gas exploration
system(C), contact laser-exploration.com, call 800-323-2255 or fax
